Pick one of your pieces with the stick and press fire. Turn with left/right, hold fire to charge, let go to launch. Hit hard enough and pieces crack and shatter — but the attacker takes most of the damage. Over 75% power is Destroy Mode: your piece and whatever it hits are both obliterated. Touch the far wall to be crowned, bring a king home to make a queen. Royals are immune to Destroy Mode — and a royal shot that hits nothing gets demoted.
The web game, rebuilt from scratch in 6502 assembly for a 1979 Atari 800: all 24 pieces animate at once with full physics, plus POKEY music, a CPU opponent with three skill levels, kings, queens and particle effects.
